Genital Herpes Man
The diagnosis of genital herpes man is not the same testing as determining an ASCUS with a pap smear in a woman.
Condoms may reduce but do not prevent spread of HSV since they only cover the protected area and HSV may appear elsewhere in broader areas where the virus is actively shedding (a “silent outbreak). Serologic testing may be particularly useful in diagnosing HSV infection where there is doubt.

The majority of persons with recurrent outbreaks of this type are infected with HSV-2. Men who have HSV infection about the penis, or scrotum can have signs and symptoms including recurrent clusters of blisters, bumps and rashes in these areas or sores and ulcers.
