Herpes Simplex I
The herpes simplex i virus is very contagious and is not diagnosed with a colposcopy as it is an oral herpes type.
Though some people may not register any signs (asymptomatic), cold sores on the mouth and lips are common. Sometimes, the gums may grow red and swollen and the tongue becomes white. The disease does not require any treatment except that the symptoms may be relieved with antiviral medicines.

This strain of the virus is spread by a close contact with an infected person or by saliva. In children, the initial infection tends to be more severe. The condition will appear a few times further in life and cannot be cured since the virus sticks to the nerve cells.
